Abolish the Death Penalty

The public is invited to "Write For Rights" at the Wednesday, December 8th meeting of the Shoreline chapter of Amnesty International. The special annual letter-writing campaign commemorates the anniversary of the U.N.'s Universal Declaration of Human Rights which states that respect for human rights and human dignity "is the foundation of freedom, justice and peace in the world". Letters and cards will be written to prisoners of conscience and to their governments. This event is free of charge, but attendees are encouraged to bring non-denominational greeting/ holiday cards for signing.

Care Uganda, who will share with us how the Madison-based
organization got started and what her goals are for the children of
Uganda. She will also discuss how by raising awareness of the
children’s plight, how her group is able to form the human bridges
across the ocean and provide assistance directly into the hands of
those in need.
